Updated Resources for Teachers
Planning a school visit to the Sedgwick Museum? An updated version of the Sedgwick Museum booklet "Information for Teachers" is now available to download. The pack contains essential information to help teachers planning a class visit to the Sedgwick Museum, along with information about loan boxes and other resources that can be used in the classroom. You can download the booklet here, and from the Resources page.
Also on the Resources page you will find two new downloads. "Darwin Detective Trail" is a simple fact-based trail which makes links between our new Darwin the Geologist exhibition and other exhibits throughout the Museum.
"Lots more things to do..." which is a compilation of just a few cross-curricular word and drawing games and treasure-hunt challenges that you can use with children to encourage them to explore and investigate during a visit. This has been added to our learning resources following a number of requests for simple activity suggestions by teachers bringing in groups that they will lead themselves for things to do which do not rely on knowing hundreds of facts about dinosaurs.
If you have any comments or feedback about any of the information and resources we provide, please contact the Museum Education Officer via sedgwickmuseum@esc.cam.ac.uk
Look out for more new cross-curricular learning resources for primary and secondary schools, plus teacher training sessions which be coming up next year. If your school would like to get involved with either developing or testing the new resources we would like to hear from you- please contact sedgwickmuseum@esc.cam.ac.uk.
